Spring into Action Benefit

PMC's fifth annual Spring into Action Benefit will be held on May 3, 2022 from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM. We are excited to announce that this benefit will use a hybrid format. The in-person location will be the Allegheny County Law Library, located at 414 Grant St. #921 in Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

PMC will present the Judge Justin Johnson Award to Judge D. Brooks Smith. Judge Smith is a Senior Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and was formerly Chief Judge of the court between October 2016 and December 2021. He is passionate about the importance of an independent judiciary within our democracy and the dangers of politicizing the courts, and has authored articles on those subjects.

All fundraising is to support PMC, its mission and its programming. No fundraising is permitted in honor of the award recipient.

Judge Johnson passed away on October 29, 2021. This will be the first Judge Justin Johnson Award presented since his passing. The event will give us an opportunity to honor his memory and legacy, by recognizing someone who shares his values with an award in his name.

We will also recognize the winner of PMC's 2022 Law Student Writing Competition at this event and present them with their prize.
