Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts to Host Eighth Annual Spring into Action Benefit May 5th at University Club, University of Pittsburgh

April 28, 2025 (Pittsburgh) - Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts will hold the eighth annual Spring into Action Benefit on Monday, May 5th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.  The benefit will be hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at the University Club.

Jeffrey Wiley, Esq. will receive the Judge Justin Johnson Award for his dedication to Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts’ mission and his work on PMC’s board.  The Judge Justin Johnson Award is named for the esteemed and beloved Pennsylvania Superior Court judge who advocated for equal access to justice.

“Jeff is a worthy recipient of the Judge Justin Johnson award.  Like Judge Johnson, Jeff is blessed with an amiable disposition and a sense of honor and a profound sense of responsibility for being fair, yet firm – direct yet decent.  Jeff managed the firm’s organic expansion to 20 offices in 11 states. Maintaining the firm’s high retention rate of lawyers and staff throughout this growth is a testament to his management skills, exercised with unassailable personal integrity,” said Chris Lee, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at Dickie McCamey.

PMC also welcomes Dean Jerry Dickinson as keynote speaker.  Dickinson has led a distinguished career as a constitutional law scholar, civil rights lawyer and community advocate.  In addition to his prolific scholarship, Dickinson is a sought-after voice in national and international media.  His forthcoming book, The Bottom-Up Constitution: Slates and the Evolution of American Constitutional Law, explores the critical role state courts, state legislatures, and state constitutions have played in sharing federal constitutional law.

“The University of Pittsburgh has benefited from Jerry Dickinson’s leadership, scholarship and enthusiasm since he first joined Pitt Law as a faculty member in 2017. Now that Jerry has ascended to the position of Dean, the sky is truly the limit, and the future couldn’t be brighter for Pitt Law. Dean Dickinson will bring the same energy and passion to being the keynote speaker for the Spring into Action Benefit as he does every day for our students, faculty and staff on campus,” said Geovette Washington, Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Legal Officer at the University of Pittsburgh.
