The Hawaii State Judiciary has created a way to receive user feedback, a 15-minute anonymous online survey. This is part of Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald’s October, 2011 creation of the Judiciary Strategic Planning Committee. The Committee is tasked with “envision[ing] the role and operation of the Judiciary over the remainder of this decade” and “develop[ing] proposals to achieve that vision.” The strategic planning process, including the survey, is an effort to “maximize stakeholder input.” According to an article in the Hawaii Reporter, it will provide the Chief Justice with recommendations on how to reach the court’s goals: “administering justice in an impartial, efficient and accessible manner in accordance with the law.”
The survey begins with questions about the user’s last courtroom interaction. It then asks questions regarding staff friendliness, safety, confidence in the court system, and overall experience. The survey concludes by asking a few questions about the user, such as age and zip code. It is available to take until August 31, 2012.
Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald will have the Committee’s recommendations by the end of the year.
