The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia is holding the special program "Making Our Democracy Work: A Judge's View" featuring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer on October 13, 2011. “Justice Breyer joins us to offer his thoughts on how the Supreme Court can promote workable government, without compromising constitutional principles, by respecting the roles that other actors — such as the president, Congress, administrative agencies, and the states — play in our democracy, and to discuss what the Court must do going forward to help make our democracy work and maintain the public's confidence.” Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts is a cooperating organization in the event, allowing all of our guests to receive tickets at the “Members’ ” cost. When registering for the event, please note your affiliation with Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts to get the discounted rate.
