PMC is the only statewide organization working exclusively to improve Pennsylvania's courts. The courts affect all of our lives. We work for systemic change, but we also address individual concerns to ensure that our courts are properly serving the public.
Our work touches all aspects of the court system. We are committed to keeping issues related to the courts in the public eye.
PMC has been a constant voice urging judicial selection reform. So long as we continue to elect our judges, however, we believe it is our responsibility to help educate the public about judicial elections. Thus, PMC sponsors and participates in educational programs throughout the election season.
The jury is a critical institution in our society. We can all be called to serve as jurors. PMC works with the public and the courts to improve the jury system and enhance the jury experience. We also work to increase juror turnout and work to implement procedures to ensure that our juries reflect the diversity of the communities from which they are drawn.
PMC often is the last resort for frustrated individuals who have been shuffled from office to office in the court system without finding the proper forum to address their concerns. PMC works to find reliable, accessible sources of information for these litigants. PMC fills a void by providing information about available resources and avenues for relief. We also offer the perspective of an outside, objective observer who can offer options for dealing with perceived or real problems with the court system.
We hope you will join our efforts and support our work.
